On 29 October, a noise conference was held upon the initiative of the municipality of district XVIII, where BA, HungaroControl and the Aviation Directorate also participated in addition to nine municipality leaders from the districts and settlements most affected by noise. At the forum dr. Reinhard Kalenda presented what has BA done so far in the field of noise protection and announced its new comprehensive noise insulation program, designed for Budapest Airport to further reduce noise burdens affecting communities around the airport. The first environmental report in the history of BA has launched. The publication entitled BA’s approach to sustainable aviation – Environmental report 2006 presents in detail what has happened in the last year in the field of noise protection, the improvement of air quality, water protection and waste management.
