Iberia and Iberia Express launch 7 weekly Madrid services to Budapest Airport

Budapest Airport has announced further development in its continuous progression and growth with the welcome addition of Iberia and Iberia Express launching a Madrid service in 2015. Spain’s largest carrier will be operating a seasonal three-times weekly service from June, while its low-cost subsidiary, Iberia Express, will commence a complimentary service on the airport pair from July, four-times weekly. Working in concert with each other, the airlines will coordinate the new schedule to provide full connectivity to their networks, a strategy which has proven successful while launching new routes from other European cities. Norwegian announces frequency increase at Budapest Airport

Norwegian low cost carrier Norwegian Air Shuttle has announced that it will be increasing the frequency of its flights between Copenhagen and Budapest to eight per week next summer. Joulupukki, the Finnish Santa arrives in Budapest

Joulupukki, the Finnish Santa Claus landed in Budapest on board Finnair flight AY-753 from Helsinki shortly ahead of schedule. Close to the stars – on the ground and in the air: Mercedes-Benz and Budapest Airport working together to improve passenger comfort

Mercedes-Benz Hungária Kft. and Budapest Airport Zrt. signed a long-term partnership agreement on 26 November 2014. Vueling announces double flight launch to Budapest

Budapest Airport: Amongst the greenest European airports

Although aviation is only responsible for two percent of global greenhouse gas emissions, and airports only generate five percent of the total emissions of the industry, airports around the world are making ever greater efforts to reduce carbon dioxide emissions and improve energy efficiency. Budapest Airport is leading the process amongst European airports, having reduced its emissions by approximately 6000 tons of carbon dioxide during the past two years. This is equivalent to the annual energy consumption of more than 500 households. Budapest Airport reorganizes the collection of donations at Terminal 2

As of 1 February, Budapest Airport will increase the number of organizations permitted to collect donations at Terminal 2 to three. The three charities were selected in an invitational tender, and will be able to collect donations from passengers, expected to run into millions of forints, in a total of six locations for a year. Modest but stable growth in 2013

In spite of the difficult situation for the economy and European aviation, passenger traffic at Ferenc Liszt International Airport grew in 2013, albeit by a modest extent. According to official figures, Budapest Airport handled 8 520 880 passengers, which represents growth of 0.2% compared to 2012. Paris, Istanbul – but not with the Orient Express
