With Christmas peak traffic approaching, Budapest Airport has announced a special promotion campaign to make travel more comfortable and more enjoyable. In view of the expected Christmas rush, the operator recommends that passengers should arrive at the airport earlier than usual, especially if they are traveling only with hand baggage. Passengers who arrive early can avoid potential queuing at the check-in counters or at passenger security screening, and will not have to rush straight to the boarding gate.
As part of the competition, Budapest Airport is asking passengers to take selfies at the terminal with their smartphones, to capture what they are doing. They can then upload their photos directly to Budapest Airport’s facebook page (two hours of free Wi-Fi is available in the SkyCourt), adding the hashtag #BudEarlyBirdSpecial. Every week, Budapest Airport will reward the best picture with a gift pack, and at the end of the competition, after 15 January 2015, one lucky participant will win an iPad mini. More details about the photo competition are available here: https://www.facebook.com/budapestairport or on Budapest Airport’s website at www.bud.hu. The competition is open to all departing passengers, irrespective of nationality.
“We would like to provide a more enjoyable airport experience for our passengers with this competition,” said Kam Jandu, chief commercial officer for Budapest Airport. “We all know what a mad rush Christmas can be in all areas of life, so we want passengers to reward themselves with a few moments of relaxation at the terminal. Those who arrive early can avoid queuing, and if they take a selfie whilst sipping a good coffee, for example, they could even win valuable prizes.”
