Lufthansa Group launches new flights to Berlin, Hamburg and Brussels from Budapest

The Lufthansa Group is expanding the capacity of its flights to Frankfurt, Munich, Vienna and Zürich, and is helping Malév passengers by launching new flights to Berlin, Hamburg and Brussels.

The Lufthansa Group acknowledged the cessation of operations by the Hungarian national carrier Malév Zrt. with regret. The Lufthansa Group has announced that it is ready to help Malév passengers with its services. Lufthansa is expanding the capacity of some of its aircraft departing from Frankfurt and Munich, and is increasing the frequency of flights from Frankfurt to Budapest to five a day as of 6 February. Additionally, Lufthansa is launching new flights from Berlin and Hamburg from 6 February.

A Boeing 737 will commute from the German capital every day, whilst the Lufthansa flight from Hamburg will also depart once a day, and the company is also continuously maintaining its three flights a day to Düsseldorf. In accordance with increased passenger demand, Austrian Airlines will also fly the Vienna-Budapest route with larger aircraft. As of 7 February, Swiss Air Lines increases the capacity of its flights on the Budapest-Zurich route, and Brussels Airlines will launch three flights a day to Brussels from 13 February 2012 instead of the current two.
