Budapest, June 29 – The taxi tender evaluation committee of Budapest Airport has invited three consortia to submit bids for the final round of the Ferihegy taxi tender.
All three bidders from Round 1 submitted legally valid bids and met the criteria established by the committee. The first round was judged on price only, and the three successful consortia have been ranked, based on the fares they offered, in the following order (with 1 offering the lowest fares and 3 the highest fares):
1. Zóna Service Konzorcium
2. Volán - Airport Taxi Service Konzorcium
3. Konzorcium
Budapest Airport CEO Chris Woodruff said: “I am delighted that we have three bidders eligible to take part in the final round of the Budapest Airport taxi service tender. Three bidders will mean real competition on price and service quality, which will deliver a great result for our passengers. Our aim is to deliver a taxi service which offers lower fares than today, and higher standards of customer service, giving our passengers a great welcome to Hungary.”
The deadline for second round bids is 17 July, and a decision is expected to be announced on 20 July.
