New Route Incentives
Budapest Airport runs an incentive scheme supporting new destinations. These are any destinations which have not been operated previously directly. Also there can be no flight to an airport nearby, a so called airport system (defined in the BUD tariff manual). In the case of Malév, there may be airlines interested in destinations near ex-Malév airports, which are not part of the airport systems defined. Please check the tariff manual for details or contact eszter.almasi@bud.hu.
Route recovery incentives
Budapest Airport is keen to discuss any offers which will cover the ex Malév routes. The following terms&conditions apply for the route recovery incentive:
• A recovered new destination is an airport or airport system where no flight operates to by any carrier from Budapest when an airline starts its service. A particular destination was operated by another carrier and was discontinued in the same schedule season.
• The new flight shall operate for at least 1 year with a minimum of 3 weekly frequencies (for 365 days from the commencing day of the first flight).
• An airline recovering a service to a destination which qualifies for this incentive is only eligible after 2 years of discontinuation of the given service (route).
• In the event that the airline launches several flights to the same new destination within 3 months, the allowance shall apply to each of these flights, but the allowance for the frequency of flights shall not exceed the validity period of the initial allowance.
• In case more than one schedule season passed since the last service by another carrier to the given destination the new destination incentive applies.
