Service requirements

Based on regulation 1107/2006 of the European Parliament and of the Council, when formulating its system of requirements, Budapest Airport fully took into account internationally recognized policies and codes of conduct applicable to facilitating travel for persons with reduced mobility (PRM passengers).

This is especially true of the requirements specified in ECAC doc 30, annex J, which served as the basis for defining qualitative requirements for the service provider.

Basic qualitative requirements:

For departing passengers:

Upon arrival at the airport, when reporting for the service:
- 100% of pre-booked passengers with reservations must not wait longer than 10 minutes for the service (15 minutes for non-pre-booked passengers or those without reservations).

For arriving passengers:

Requesting the service at the door of the arriving aircraft, or at the waiting point in case of transfer passengers
- 100% of pre-booked passengers with reservations must not wait longer than 10 minutes for service (15 minutes for non-pre-booked passengers or those without reservations).

General requirements:


- All PRM must be satisfied with the service.
- 100% of PRM must reach their flights in time, to enable them to take their seats.
- Only well-trained, appropriately educated staff may be employed for the service.
- Continuous further training should be provided for staff, in cooperation with local, international and European forums.

Where are the parking spaces dedicated for persons with reduced mobility located? Is parking provided free of charge for PRMs?

The spaces located closest to the terminal building are dedicated to persons with reduced mobility in the car parks at Budapest Airport. In the Terminal Car Park we provide 1 hour free of charge for passengers holding a valid disabled parking permit. The discount can be requested at the customer service office located in the middle of the car park.
