Gamla Stan, the Old Town, is one of the largest and best preserved medieval city centers in Europe, and one of the foremost attractions in Stockholm. This is where Stockholm was founded in 1252.

Stockholm
Royal Palace:
Welcome to one of the largest palaces in Europe! The Royal Palace is the official residence of His Majesty the King of Sweden, with over 600 rooms. The Palace is open to the public and offers no less than five museums.

Stockholm
The City Hall:
The Stockholm City Hall is one of Sweden’s most famous buildings, and one of the capital's most visited tourist attractions. It houses offices for 200 people including the Municipal Council, and is also famous for its grand ceremonial halls and unique art pieces. The Stockholm City Hall is the venue of the Nobel Prize banquet held on 10 December each year.

Stockholm
The Vasa Museum:
The Vasa is the only preserved seventeenth-century ship in the world, and a unique art treasure. More than 95 percent of the ship is original, and it is decorated with hundreds of carved sculptures.

Stockholm
Boat sightseeing:
The fact that Stockholm is built on 14 beautiful islands connected by 57 bridges, makes a sightseeing tour by boat somewhat of a given

Stockholm
ABBA Museum:
This is a place where you walk and dance out! The music, the clothes, the lyrics, musicals, and films of ABBA have been gathered in Stockholm and are on display in a permanent exhibition. Swedish popular music has also been honored with a dedicated museum in the Swedish Music Hall of Fame. Modern, interactive, and – of course – non-stop music.

skanzen
Skansen-Open Air Museum:
Skansen is a favorite both among Stockholmers and visitors passing through, and it’s a perfect family outing. This is the oldest open-air museum in the world and also the Stockholm zoo, with animals native to Scandinavia.

Go for a 'fika'

Going for a fika is a very Swedish thing. Though difficult to translate it basically means to meet up for a coffee and a piece of cake or pastry. Sweden enjoys a highly developed culture when it comes to baked goods, and everywhere in Stockholm you’ll find cafés and cake shops brimming with atmosphere, character and quality, whether traditional or contemporary-creative.
