“We are proud to offer our passengers more destinations than ever before this summer, and I am confident that everyone will find the airline that best suits their needs to start their holiday. Our new airline development strategy, coupled with VINCI Airports’ extensive network of airline partners, is already delivering very promising results,” said Francois Berisot, the CEO of Budapest Airport. He added: “Moreover, the record-breaking offer of the summer schedule will not only benefit Hungarian travelers, but will also further strengthen tourism in Hungary, for which we are experiencing steadily growing demand, thanks to Budapest’s attractiveness.”
Traffic between Hungary and China is also continuing to grow, with 357,300 seats available this season, 100,000 more than last year, an increase of 24 per cent. The steady growth in demand between the two countries reflects both the strong economic ties between the countries and the tourism interest in Hungary.
Among existing airline partners, Lufthansa, Eurowings, KLM and easyJet will significantly increase their capacities, while Aer Lingus and Aegean Airlines will increase the weekly frequency of their flights to five, improving connections to the US and the Greek islands. The capacity increase to Israel will result in Budapest offering the most seats to and from Israel of any airport in the region this summer.
